View How To Install A Circuit Breaker Panel Images. Run the cable through the panel knockouts, strip off the insulation, and attach your electrical wire to the appropriate panel terminals. Determine what type of circuit breaker you need to install, based on the total circuit load.
Remove the panel box cover plate knockout that corresponds to the slot where you installed the new breaker (bend it back and forth until it breaks off).
Run the feeder cable from the main panel to the subpanel. With the main panel door open, insert the cable and slide it through the knockout opening. Remove the outer sheath covering of the circuit cables leaving at least an inch where the cable enters the panel. Use about three inches of the uncut sheath to identify the circuit, and then slide the sheath back onto the power conductor wire that will be attached to the circuit breaker.
